WHEN
The 2025 edition of the piano competition will be held from 17-25 May at the Westerford High School music auditorium.
The Prize Winners Concert is at 3 pm on Sunday 25 May also at Westerford High School.
WHAT
The Western Cape Piano Festival Competition was created for piano teachers and piano departments of schools in the Western Cape area, to celebrate piano teaching and to provide a platform for piano performance. The piano festival invites pianists from across South Africa to participate. Competing pianists will be given a written report including comments, a score for their performance, and a certificate.
Category winners are invited to the Prize Winners Concert and will receive monetary prizes.
WHO
The competition is for young pianists of South Africa ranging from 6 to 19 years of age who get the opportunity to perform live for an expert adjudicator. Winners receive prizes in various categories and get the opportunity to perform in the Prize Winners Concert at the end of the Piano Festival.
